About ANCE
The Alliance Nationale des Consommateurs et de l'Environnement (ANCE) is a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) and a Non-for profit and non political organization established under the Togolese law, related to civil society on September 3rd, 1999 and recognized as an Association under the No. 0290/MATDCL-SG-DLPAP-DOCA of May 21st, 2010 by the Ministry in charge of decentralization. It has also been granted the status of development NGO under No. 651/PR/MPDAT/2012 of 11 July 2012 by the Ministry in charge of planning of Togo. ANCE is the National Chapter of Transparency International in Togo. ANCE is sitting on the Interim Council of the African Union Non-State Actors Forum on Transparency, Accountability and the fight against corruption and on the International Council of the Global Infrastructure Anti-Corruption Centre (GIACC, UK). Finally, ANCE is the National Partner of the International Budget Partnership (IBP) in Togo on the Open Budget Survey (OBS).

Our approach
ANCE-TOGO has adopted a systemic, holistic and inclusive approach for an effective fight against corruption, money laundering and other organised crimes.

2011Our governance structures
ANCE is governed by the following five (05) bodies which are: (1) General Assembly (GA.); (2) Board of Directors (BOD); (3) Executive Secretariat (ES); (4) Scientific Committee (SC); (5) Specialized Committees (SCs)
The General Assembly (GA): The ordinary General Assembly is held every two (02) years. It appoints the members of the Board of Directors, approves the audited reports and accounts, approves the modifications and clauses of the organisation's constitution, etc.
The Board of Directors (BD): The BD is composed of eleven (11) members including a President, a Treasurer, a Secretary General and eight (08) other members, all elected by the General Assembly, for a term of two (2) years renewable once.
The Scientific Committee (SC): The SC is the body in charge of the orientation, the approval of the research agendas and the findings of research and reports. It is composed of nine (9) members.
The Executive Secretariat (ES): The ES is the executive body of the organisation. It is responsible for Coordination, Networking and Interconnections, Information sharing and Communication, Capacity Building, Studies & Research, Monitoring and Evaluation and Resource Mobilisation, staff management, etc.
Our key achievements
National level (Togo)
- We have contributed to building the capacity of stakeholders (public sector, private sector and civil society); we have contributed to several reforms on transparency of public procurement, the fight against corruption, the strengthening of regulatory bodies, etc.
- We have also contributed to the amendments of laws and regulations (money laundering, public procurement, anti-corruption, audit court, etc.).
- We have been a strong voice for civil society, representing CSOs on various steering committees for donor-funded programs, expert groups, technical committees, etc. Indeed, ANCE is representing CSOs on the National Group of Experts in charge of the self-assessment of the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (February 2021 to June 2022); the National Group of Experts in charge of the assessment of the national public procurement system (April to December 2019); the National Group of Experts in charge of the assessment of the national system for combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism (March to September 2020); the Committee for the self-assessment of the anti-money laundering and anti-terrorism mechanism in non-profit organisations in Togo (April-May, 2020). We also represent Togolese civil society on the steering committees of the Economic Governance Support Project (PAGE), the Governance and Private Sector Development Support Project (PAGDSP), the Good Financial Governance Project, etc.
Regional level (ECOWAS)
- Since March 2023, ANCE plays the role of West Africa Regional Hub for the Stopping Impunity for Corruption through Enhanced Accountability (SICEA) Project, implemented in four West African countries (Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Togo).
- ANCE coordinated with other TI chapters in West Africa the process of the drafting of the regional report and policy brief on the right to information in West Africa, which was launched in Accra, Ghana on June 2nd, 2026 in presence of the ECOWAS Ambassador in Ghana, the Commissioner on Human Rights, CSOs and the media.
- ANCE has assessed the implementation of the ECOWAS Protocol against corruption in the fifteen member countries and has made recommendations to advance anti-corruption initiatives in the region. The report on this assessment was subject to a regional validation workshop attended by representatives of ECOWAS, anti-corruption agencies, members of parliament, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, and the media.
